Kekuta became a part of the Rush family in Gambia – playing for Gambia Rush, along with teams in the top leagues of Gambia. After leaving Africa in 2010, Kekuta joined Georgia Rush and led them to the state cup quarterfinals. He then moved to The Woodlands, TX and joined the Texas Rush Soccer Club U.S. Soccer Development Academy where he scored 35 goals in 23 games and led his team to the 2010-2011 USSDA Conference Championship. Kekuta is one of the most successful Rush alumni – the number 4 overall MLS Draft pick in 2013 and the youngest rookie in MLS history to score a hat trick.
