Woodall & Alvarado win CONCACAF Championship with Mexico U17 WNT

Briana Woodall (U15 ECNL) and Emily Alvarado (U17 ECNL) have completed a remarkable journey by winning the CONCACAF Championship with the Mexico U17 Women's National Team.
Victory in Saturday's final came over Canada by virtue of their second successive penalty shootout success after the game finished 0-0 in regulation time. Emily Alvarado came up huge once again with two more saves from the penalty spot. For game highlights, click here.
Briana and Emily returned home today for a short rest period before they leave for the Phoenix ECNL National Event on Thursday with Texas Rush.

Mexico beat United States 4-2 on penalties in the CONCACAF Championships Semi-Final earning a place in Saturday's final and subsequently qualifying for the U17 World Cup in 2014. The game finished 1-1 in regulation time.
Briana Woodall (U15 ECNL) scored the opening goal with a header in the first 5 minutes of the game. Emily Alvarado (U17 ECNL) made some crucial saves with the game tied 1-1 but more significantly, made two outstanding saves in the penalty shootout earning Mexico the victory.

Texas Rush Soccer Club would like to congratulate Briana Woodall (U15 ECNL) and Emily Alvarado (U17 ECNL) for their selection to the Mexico Women's U17 team. Both players just completed a training camp in Mexico City ahead of the CONCACAF Championships later this month. They will play qualifying games against Haiti, El Salvador and the hosts Jamaica over the next 10 days. This event also serves as qualification for the U17 World Cup in 2014.
