Winter Blast Tournament A Great Success

Saturday, December 8, 2012, Texas Rush hosted its 5th annual 3v3 Winter Blast tournament, one of the largest soccer tournaments in Montgomery County. The event was a great success with over 180 teams competing in perfect spring-like weather. “The weather and the atmosphere were perfect; the event just gets better each year,” commented Tournament Director, Milton Arraez.. Milton continued, “The idea of the Winter Blast isn’t just about soccer; it’s about creating an atmosphere where the whole family can enjoy the day.” This year the Winter Blast added some new activities, a dunk tank and hay ride. The dunk tank was a big hit with the players, many having an opportunity to dunk their favorite coach. Numerous players were spot on with their aim...dropping several coaches into the frigid water. "It was great watching the kids get so excited when they hit the target," said Coach Mike Openshaw. This year’s tournament was moved to a new location. The Conroe venue turned out to be the perfect setting for such a big event.
A big thank you to all the participants, their families, and all the wonderful volunteers for helping make the 3v3 Winter Blast Tournament a success!
