Bubacarr Jobe

This past weekend, the Texas Rush USSDA teams hosted FC Dallas at Bear Branch Sportsfields. Knowing that this game was a chance to earn three very important points, both teams showed up ready to play from the first whistle.

The U18's opened the game with various opportunities in the first few minutes, but it wasn't until the tenth minute when Diego Galdamez recovered the ball from a blocked corner kick and played it down the left to Kevin Barahona  who proceeded to cross it in for Javi Vazquez to put it in the back of the net.

Shortly after the first goal, Rush was on the attack again with a shot by Bubacarr Jobe, which was deflected by the FC Dallas goalie, but Carlos Mendoza got on the end of the loose ball and scored for the 2-0.

Just before the end of the first half, Carlos Mendoza and Bubacarr Jobe found each other again, this time the roles were switched and Carlos set up Bubacarr  for a header in the 43rd minute, which gave the home team a 3-0 lead.

Both teams came off the bench very strongly after half-time, but it was the Rush who was able to find the back of the net after only  two minutes. This would be Bubacarr's second goal of the game as a ball was played in by Javi Vazquez for a left-footed finish giving the Rush the final 4-0 win and the three points.

The team stayed connected throughout the game and it was with a solid performance from the defense and great saves by Miguel Alvarez that they pulled away with a shutout.

The U16's followed with a strong performance, creating many opportunities. They dominated the game and had various combinations that allowed them to play around their opponent. The team finished off with a 0-0 tie, giving them one point to move them up in the standings.

Both teams will travel to Dallas for their next match to face-off against Andromeda on Sunday, May 6th.
