Rush Soccer Club is already the largest youth soccer club in the world with more than 40,000 members and clubs in South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. But Milton Arraez, the Texas Rush director of coaching for senior girls, has his sights set on locations closer to home.
Arraez said Rush has plans to expand the club’s reach with new posts in Magnolia, Conroe and Montgomery in the near future.
Rush recently acquired two fields in Lents Family Park West in the FM 1960 area. It is constructing facilities in Magnolia, and Arraez said the club will keep using Carl Barton Jr. Park and McDade fields in Conroe, employing a full-time staff member in Conroe next year.
Texas Rush is based out of The Woodlands, but Arraez said the club is concerned about making practice, game and tournament commutes easier for players and their families. It also is planning to gain more players from a wider pool, he said. According to Arraez, there are approximately 7,000 children within a 10-mile radius in the Magnolia area that Rush is trying to appeal to and potentially add to its rosters.
