The Texas Rush ECNL program returned from the Phoenix ECNL event with plenty of positives to reflect upon.

The U15 through U18 ECNL teams were matched up with several opponents ranked in the top 20 teams in the nation.

Texas Rush U15 ECNL lost a close encounter with San Diego Surf 3-2 after 80 minutes of quality soccer from both teams.  The U15s went on to beat Arsenal (Southern California) 4-1 and were denied a second victory against Mustang (North California) through a last minute equalizing goal with the game finishing 1-1.  Kimberly Rodriguez (2), Sophie Manibo (2), Ali Lawrence (2) and Taylor Olson (1) all finding the net during the course of the weekend.  Final record W1 - T1 - L1.

For the U16 ECNL, game one finished 0-0 against Sereno (Arizona).  Saturday's match up with the Mid-Atlantic Conference leaders FC Virginia finished in a 1-1 tie with Savvy Ulrich and Taylor Peimbert combining for the goal in an excellent performance by the Rush girls.  In the final game Heat FC (Nevada) broke the deadlock deep into the second half and eventually ran out 2-0 winners in the final game of the weekend. W0 - T2 - L1.

Rush U17 ECNL started slow with a first day loss to Vardar.  However, they bounced back on day 2 with a 2-0 win over Sockers FC (Illinois) with team captains Alison Robinson and Lindsey Washburn scoring the goals.  In game 3, Emily Alvarado produced a similar display of outstanding saves that won her Mexico team the CONCACAF Championship last week.  Two minutes after half time with the game still tied 0-0, Lindsey Washburn scored her second free kick of the weekend to put the U17s 1-0 up vs. San Juan (North California).  However, with just 30 seconds to play Rush conceded a penalty which was converted, tying the game at 1-1.  Final record: W1 - T1 - L1

U18 ECNL were participating in their final ECNL event together and they certainly made the most of their experience.  They got off to a great start with a 1-0 victory over Eagles (So Cal) with Carmen Webster grabbing the game winning goal.  Day two matched them up with San Juan (North California) with the closely fought and very entertaining game finishing 1-1 with Sonia Johnson scoring for Rush.  In game three, Rush faced Colorado Storm and ran out 2-1 winners with Sonia Johnson and Michala McCurdy on the score sheet.  Texas Rush U18 ECNL finish the weekend with an impressive W2 - T1 - L0.  (Pictured below)

"We are very pleased with the teams who participated at this event.  Since the 2012 Phoenix event we have shown considerable improvement in a number of key areas and the overall quality of soccer we are playing is very encouraging.  The ECNL put on yet another outstanding event that was thoroughly enjoyed by the girls" Andy Squire - Director of Coaching ECNL
