What is 3v3?
3 v 3 is the game everyone is talking about!
It is fun and fast-paced with no goal keepers, no off side, and no slide tackles. Teams may have a maximum of six players, with three on the field and three substitutes. Each team will typically play a minimum of 4 games, consisting of two ten-minute halves separated by a two minute break. Texas Rush Winter Blast will award medals to players U9 and older and participation awards for all U5, U6, U7 and U8 players.

3 v 3 es el juego del que todos estan hablando!
Es divertido y rapido; no tiene portero, no hay fueras de lugar, y no hay barridas. Cada equipo tiene un maximo de seis jugadores, tres en el campo y tres reemplazos. Who Can Play 3v3 soccer?
The Rush Winter Blast 3v3 Soccer is a soccer event open to players of all skill levels. Youth players must be registered with STYSA or US Club.

Who can Coach?
Anyone can coach a team and we strongly encourage you to enter a team. The primary job of the coach is to cheer on the players, make substitutions and get the team to the correct field at the correct time. It will be very simple, fun and rewarding!

How do I determine which age bracket is appropriate for my team?
Teams should be registered in the age-group category of the oldest player on the team, even if players’ ages span more than one age group. (See age chart below)

How do I register for the tournament?
Go to www.texasrush.com and select the ‘Registration’ tab. Next, select the registration category ‘2016 Winter Blast 3v3’, then follow online instructions. *The contact person (person who registers the team) accepts waiver responsibility for their entire team during the online registration process.

Necessary Information to complete team registration:

  • Players’ names
  • Players’ date of birth
  • Players’ contact information

What if a player is not registered with a soccer club?
All players must be registered with STYSA or US Club Soccer. Any player not registered through either of these organizations, must complete a Player  (Registration Form) and pay a player registration fee (U10 and below is $20; U11 and higher is $40).

Can we change our team name?
Yes. If you register online, you will have to provide a Team name. You can email Recreational Administrator, Natalie Olivarez at nolivarez@texasrush.com to make changes to your roster (including changing your Team Name) before December 2, 2016.

How many players can I have on the roster?
You may carry a maximum of 6 players with a minimum of 3 players. Your team’s entry fee is the same regardless of the number of players on the team.

Who needs to attend Check-In?
One member and/or coach from each team must attend the pre-event Check-in to show player cards (non-Rush team/ player) and medical release forms (including all Texas Rush teams/players), pick up tournament rules, and event T-shirts. See Check-in information posted on the Winter Blast webpage.

Can I call the pre-event location to check in my team?
We’re sorry, but we can’t allow teams to check-in by phone, must be in person.

How do I know my team’s registration is complete?
Once you have completed the online registration for your team, you should receive a confirmation letter via email. *If you do not receive a confirmation email, first check your ‘junk’ mail; then, if still don’t have confirmation, please contact tournament registration at winterblast@texasrush.com .

What do I bring to check-in?
You must bring a completed Mecial Release Form for all players (Texas Rush players included), proof of Player Registration (Non-Rush players).  If your players do not have a player card, a signed letter from your club registrar showing player name, player ID, and birth date will be accepted (birth certificates do not qualify as proof of registration).

Will there be Winter Blast tournament t-shirts for sale?
Yes, onsite purchase of t-shirts will be available for $20 each, while supplies last.

How are the divisions formed?
Teams will be placed in divisions based on age and gender. Teams that span more than one age group will be placed in the division of the oldest player on the team.

When will schedules be available?
The Winter Blast weekend’s schedules will be posted on the Winter Blast Tournament page of the Texas Rush website (visit www.texasrush.com > Events > Tournaments > Winter Blast 3v3). Schedules will be available online by December 7, 2016 after 12 noon.

Will standings be updated?
Standings will be updated throughout the day on-site only.

What are the rules for the Rush Winter Blast 3v3 Soccer Tournament?

What are the field dimensions?
The playing field is 40 yards long by 30 yards wide for ages U10 and higher; a 30 x 20 yard field is used for U5, U6, U7 and U8 participants.

Are numbers on jerseys required?
No, but all players must wear similar team shirts (same color) during play. If both teams are wearing the same color, the home team (listed first on the schedule) must change to their alternate shirt/jersey or use pinnies.

Can I request a specific time to play?
Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee any accommodation of this type of request.

Are there any player restrictions on casts, or jewelry?
Referees must approve players wearing proactive casts (hard casts will not be allowed). No jewelry will be allowed (including earrings, of any type; rope necklaces and/or bracelets). The only exception will be for players wearing medical bracelets.

Can I change my roster after I am registered?
Yes, you can adjust your roster until check-in. You may turn in roster changes at the pre-event packet pickup (check-in) or at the Headquarters Tent at the event (an hour before your first game).

What is the refund policy?
We do not offer full refunds after the registration deadline. If you have questions about this, contact the Tournament Director at winterblast@texasrush.com
What is the refund policy due to weather conditions?

There will be a minimum $80.00 administration fee for teams that are not able to attend the rescheduled date. *If there are weather challenges, the new date will be January 16, 2016.

Once play has begun there will be no refund.

What is the refund policy if USC schedules my competitive team’s game on the tournament date?
We will refund your team the registration fee less a $80.00 administration fee. (This admin fee covers the web hosting fee, bank charges, and admin costs.) Please notify us within 48 hours of the USC schedule so we can give your place to another team on our wait list.

Teams from outside The Woodlands area have the option to check in Saturday morning (day of tournament) at tournament headquarters (located at park pavilion ). Check-in must be done at least 1 hour before the team’s first scheduled match.

Player Registration: All players must be registered on their teams’ registration form before the tournament begins. Any team or player determined by the event director to have falsified age or skill level will be dismissed from the tournament. All players must carry proof of age.

Rosters: All rosters are final upon completion of the team’s first game.

Number of Players: Six is the maximum number of players on a team; three field players at one time. Players may only play on one team per division. There are no goalkeepers in 3v3 soccer. Substitutes may occur at any dead ball situation, but players must get referees attention and enter and exit at the half-field mark only.

Equipment: All players must wear shin guards. Any player without shin guards will not be allowed to play. Teams are responsible for providing game balls.

Field Dimensions: Length – 40 yards, Width – 30 yards. U5, U6, U7 & U8 age groups play on a 20 by 30 yard field.

Goal Box: The goal box, eight feet wide by six feet long, is directly in front of the goal. No player may touch the ball within the goal box, however any player may move through the goal box. Any part of the ball or player’s body on the line is considered in the goal box; the player is an extension of the box. If a defender touches the ball in the goal box, a penalty kick is awarded to the offensive team. If an offensive player touches the ball within the goal box, a goal kick is awarded to the defensive team. If the ball comes to a complete stop in the goal box, regardless of which team touched it last, a goal kick is awarded to the defensive team. Goals are 4 feet high by 6 feet wide.

Game Duration: The game shall consist of two 10 minute halves separated by a two minute halftime period OR the first team to reach 10goals, whichever comes first. Games tied after regulation play shall end in a tie. Except Playoffs which will be a 3 minute golden goal period followed by a shootout.

Goal Scoring: A goal may be scored from a touch on the offensive half on the playing field.

Scoring (in Pool Play): Games will be scored according to the following:
3 points for a win
1 point for a tie
0 points for a loss

Tiebreakers: In pool play, ties between three or more teams will be broken by;
1) head to head results between tied teams
2) goal difference in pool play
3) playoff team shootout.

Playoff Overtime: TEAMS WILL HAVE A 3 MINUTE “GOLDEN GOAL”. If the score is still tied, the winner shall be decided by shootout by entire roster.

NO OFFSIDES IN 3v3 SOCCER AND NO SLIDE TACKLING IN 3v3 SOCCER

Five Yard Rule: In all dead ball situations, defending players must stand at least five yards away from the ball. If the defensive player’s goal area is closer than five yards, the ball shall be placed five yards from the goal area.

Kick-ins: The ball shall be kicked into play from the sideline instead of throw in.

Indirect Kicks: All dead ball kicks (kick-ins, free kicks, kick-offs) are indirect with exception to corner and penalty kicks.

Goal Kicks: May be taken from any point on the end line, and not in the goal box area.

Kick Off: May be taken in any direction.

Penalty Kicks: Shall be awarded if, in the referee’s opinion, a scoring opportunity was nullified by the infraction. It is a direct kick taken from the middle of the half-field line with all players behind the half-field line. If a goal is not scored, the defense obtains possession with a goal kick. Penalty kicks are not live balls.

Player Ejection (Yellow/Red Card): Referees have the right to eject a player from the game for continual disobedience or as a result of an incident that warrants sending the player off. The tournament director will decide suspension from additional games.

Forfeits: A forfeit shall be scored as 5-0.

Sportsmanship: Players, coaches and spectators are expected to act in the nature of good sportsmanship at all times. Abuse of the referees will not be tolerated. Any instance of such conduct will disqualify the responsible team from the event.

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST CARRY PROOF OF AGE, IE; PLAYER PASS, DRIVERS LICENSE OR BIRTH CERTIFICATE. SITUATIONS OR OCCURRENCES THAT THESE RULES DO NOT ADDRESS SHALL BE LEFT TO THE SOLE DISCRETION OF THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR.

Todos los jugadores deben estar listados en el formulario de inscripción de su equipo, antes de que empiece el torneo. Cualquier equipo o jugador que, de acuerdo al director del evento, haya falsificado edad o nivel de juego, será eliminado del torneo. Todos los jugadores deberán tener disponible un documento que pruebe su edad.

Las dimensiones de las porterías son: 4 pies de alto por 6 pies de ancho.

Duracion del Jueago: El juego consiste de dos tiempos de 10 minutos cada uno, separados por un medio tiempo de 2 minutos O terminará cuando uno de los equipos anote 10 goles. Juegos empatados después del tiempo regulado, serán registrados como empate, excepto para los partidos de eliminatoria, en los cuales habrá un periodo adicional de 3 minutos con gol de oro, seguido por definición por penales.

Anotacion de Goles: Un gol sólo puede ser anotado por un toque en el lado ofensivo del campo de juego.

Puntos (Pool Play): Se darán puntos a los equipos de acuerdo a lo siguiente:
3 puntos por partido ganado
1 punto por partido empatado
0 puntos por partido perdido.

Desempates: En pool play, empates entre tres o más equipos se definirán por:
1) resultados de partidos jugados entre los equipos empatados
2) gol diferencia en pool play
3) cobros penales en los partidos de eliminatoria.

Tiempo Extra – En Partidos de Eliminatoria: LOS EQUIPOS TENDRAN 3 MINUTOS DE TIEMPO EXTRA – GOL DE ORO. Si el marcador sigue empatado, se definirá el ganador después de tiros penales realizados por todo el equipo.

NO HAY FALTAS POR FUERA DE LUGAR EN EL FUTBOL 3-V-3 Y NO SE PERMITEN LAS BARRIDAS.

Regla de Las Cinco Yardas: En todas las situaciones de pelota quieta, los jugadores del equipo defensivo deben pararse al menos a cinco yardas de la pelota. Si la portería del jugador del equipo defensivo está a menos de cinco yardas, la pelota debe colocarse a cinco yardas de ella.

Saque de Banda: La pelota debe ser pateada para iniciar el juego desde la línea lateral, en lugar de un saque de banda.

Tiros Indirectos: Todos los tiros de pelota quieta (saques, tiros libres, tiro de iniciación del partido) son indirectos, con excepción del tiro de esquina y los tiros penales.

Un tiro penal es un tiro directo tomado desde la mitad de la línea del medio campo, con todos los jugadores detrás de ella. Si no se anota gol, el equipo en la defensa toma posesión de la pelota y cobra un tiro de portería. Los tiros penales no constituyen pelotas en juego.

Expulsion de un Jugador (Tarjetas Amarilla/Roja): Los árbitros tienen el derecho de expulsar un jugador del partido por desobediencia continua o como resultado de un incidente que justifique sacar un jugador del partido y la de cancha. El director del torneo decidirá la suspensión para juegos adicionales.

Retiros (Forfeits): En caso de que uno de los dos equipos no se presente al partido. Ese equipo recibirá una derrota con un marcador de 0-5 puntos.

Juego Limpio: Se espera que tanto los jugadores, como los entrenadores y los espectadores actúen con buen espíritu deportivo, en todo momento. El abuso a los árbitros no será tolerado. Este tipo de conducta puede llevar a la descalificación del equipo responsable.
